A number of individuals throughout the area were incredibly helpful in spreading the word about the league and allowing us to use their facilities to practice and play during our inaugural 2004 season.

Steve Bandura of the Marian Anderson Recreation Center in downtown Philadelphia was invaluable in terms of his support, ideas, and generosity with respect to allowing us to use his facilities.

Don McKee of the Philadelphia Inquirer wrote a terrific article about us in March 2004 that spearheaded the growth of the league.

Jim Glennie of American Women's Baseball provided us with initial web support and access to a huge network of women's baseball contacts.

Justine Siegal of the Women's Baseball League provided us with an ongoing pipeline of players, contacts, and terrific advice.

JoAnn Milliken (Eastern Women's Baseball Conference), Susan Winthrop (New York Women's Baseball League), and Adriane Adler (East Coast Women's Baseball League) all provided wonderful encouragement and information on the nuts-and-bolts of getting a women's baseball league started.

Johnna Capitano hooked us into the Philly women's sports network.

The Philadelphia Phillies were extremely generous in donating equipment and uniforms for us to use this season. The PWBL extends its thanks to the team (and in particular to Meghan Leary!) for all the encouragement and support.
