Memorial Day weekend in MD 2009
The Eastern Women’s Baseball Conference based out of Washington, D.C. once again held their Memorial Day tournament (from May 23-25) in Baltimore, MD, and we sent a PWBL team to compete.
Despite the valiant efforts of pitchers Charlene Wright and Cindi Lukomski, the excellent coaching of Malcolm Ford and Joe Lukomski, and the terrific defense of our Philly squad (the roster included veterans Amber Howell, Kat Posner, Karen McGovern, Narda Quigley, Tami Sortman, and newcomers Abby Pillot, Terri Cotto, Nicole Sandomenico, and Erin Foley), our bats were unfortunately pretty quiet throughout the tournament. As a result, we were unable to defend our 2008 title. We did have a great time, though!
